Since 1994, Poivos and Fani have grown up and evolved together. Throughout their shared journey—marked by numerous creative collaborations—they have developed a common code of references and artistic language, both in terms of visual expression and thematic content. It seems they draw their material from the same reservoir of memory.
The scenes in their works are imbued with both affection and mystery, with an intimate, inward-looking disposition. The simplicity of their line—never lacking in clarity—immediately evokes a world of reconciliation and inner transport, in which the usual coordinates of space and time are reconfigured with new meaning. Space is at times perceived as a natural environment, and at others as a supra-sensory realm—one that allows for the emergence of new relationships and associations. Time, meanwhile, is stripped of its superfluous, ephemeral traits, and returns to its point of origin. The constant presence of music, the silent dialogue of gazes, and the festive, convivial atmosphere—where human beings and their surroundings are joined in unity—bring forth moments in which time is not revealed in its conventional sense, as decay or erosion, but rather in the light of birth and life.
